Matthew William Long (born June 15, 1991) better known by his stage name Matt Movin, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He's Graced stages before acts such as Yelawolf, Project Pat, Jellyroll, Cashout, and several other major artists. He made a name for himself under "Matt Solo" (his previous stage name and moniker) by releasing multiple mixtapes on the underground including "Once upon a time in Chattanooga" and the self released album entitled "Prodigy." Both works earning local praise and several write ups in local press as well as a recording contract with Universal subsidiary label Whirl Records. However, Long parted amicably with Whirl in late 2015 deciding to pursue as an Independent Artist as well as to focus on creating his own label to be named the now R.T.A. an acronym for "Round Table Affiliation" (a knod to king Arthur's carefully chosen and most trusted Knights) Rapidly rising as an up and coming artist after a promotional soundcloud release entitled "All Gas No Brakes" raked in an impressive 15k plays in under 24 hours he continues to gain momentum. On February 15, 2019 He released his latest project to date "Basic Instincts" on the popular mixtape platforms Spinrilla and MyMixtapez earning major co-signs from the likes of Kei Henderson and DJ Cinemax.

Raised in a primarily single parent household in the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, but ultimately settling in the east side of the city under the care of the state. Long had a tumultuous upbringing and was often arrested for crimes spanning from thefts to aggravated assaults and robberies. At 15 he was struck by two bullets while attending a party with friends. It was that close brush with death that propelled him to take himself and his music more seriously. Unfortunately later that same year he was arrested and convicted on several violent charges and incarcerated. At 17, he returned and picked up right where he left off in the studio with former colleagues (Atlas Studios) releasing several projects under his original stage name "Hood Mane" (a nicknamed coined by elders in the projects he resided in) Including "The Menace." Unfortunately Long suffered many bouts of depression and struggled with mental health issues ranging from anxiety to PTSD and consequently resorted to his former ways. He dropped out of school and returned to selling drugs. leaving his career, progress, and dreams behind. In 2009 he was arrested on multiple armed robbery, weapon, and drug charges after an anonymous tip lead authorities to his whereabouts, and again he found himself incarcerated. In early 2012 He would return to the mic and continue pursuing his music career branding himself under the name "C-Hood" he joined a local battle league, and released the project that would gain the attention of Philadelphia Rapper Meek Mill "WishMaker$" Unfortunately, due to the recent loss of several close friends, still battling depression, and now struggling with substance abuse, He turned down the offer and remained independent. In early 2015 Now going by "Matt Solo" He would gain the attention he had been looking for again by signing a recording contract with Nino Villanova (CEO of Universal Subsidiary Label Whirl Records) Unfortunately after releasing several albums, He would surrender the name to EDM Artist Matt Solo after a copyright claim was filed. In Late 2015 He parted amicably from Whirl Records and decided to pursue his career independently as well as adopt the name given to him by a close friend "Matt Movin." He signed with several independent labels before deciding to focus on building his own. From late 2015 to Late 2017 he worked several 9-5 jobs to fund his music career including Zaxby's, Applebees, Logans Roadhouse, and several construction jobs. Unfortunately, with one foot still in the streets In late August of 2017 he was stabbed 5 times in front of a gas station in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee and hospitalized. This second brush with death propelled him to work even harder and focus on his label as well as career. In July of 2018 He Introduced RTA to the world of social media and has since gained overnight plays of 15k on sites such as soundcloud and continues to build his name and brand. On February 15, 2019 he released his latest to date project entitled "Basic Instincts" and has received co-signs from big names such as DJ Cinemax, Genesis GreyKid, Kei Henderson, and is rumored to be collaborating with Comedian HaHa Davis for the visual of his Single "Bag Bag."

Matt Movin is known more than anything for his brutally honest "confessional masterpieces" that equip an autobiographical depiction with melodic yet southern productions. It has been noted by several Critics including Chattanooga's own Marc Michael, that he combines gritty street rap with an "angelic tuneful touch."

Lyric wise, Movin's topics often deal with subjects such as poverty, heartbreak, incarceration, depression, pain, substance abuse, and more recently, anthems involving the "Rags to Riches" mindset. He has listed many artists among his influences including Outkast, Biggie Smalls, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Nas, TI, Lil Wayne, Yo Gotti and several others.
